FRIDAY, JANUARY 28, 2011 BELLEVILLE NEWS-DEMOCRAT OBITUARIES Kathye Herrin Polillo, 57, of O'Fallon, born Dec. 29, 1953, in Brunswick, Ga, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at Cedar Ridge Health Care Center, Lebanon, Ill. She lost her long-term battle with numerous health problems going back to 1984. Kathye was a graduate of Glen Academy in Brunswick, and the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, receiving a bachelor's degree in nursing.

She carried her faith and desire to help or serve people into her three years of military service as a U.S. Air Force as a medical officer (registered nurse). Kathye also traveled throughout the states, alongside her husband and his military career but continued her desire to heal people by working at many medical facilities, including but not limited to Henrietta Egleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta, Dorchester County Hospital in South Carolina, Maricopa County Hospital in Mesa, David Grant Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base, AMC Headquarters and O'Fallon Health Care, O'Fallon, Ill. She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances, nee Sumner, Herrin. Kathye is survived by her husband Ronald Kathye Polillo Thomas Polillo of O'Fallon, a son, Christopher Thomas (Lisa Stone) Polillo of Tijuana, Mexico; a daughter, Nicole (Darrel) Malvin of Collinsville, three grandchildren, Jacob Thomas, Benjamin Lee, and Andrew Christopher; her father, Ernest Herrin of Brunswick, a brother, Carl David Herrin of Brunswick, two sisters, Kim (Jay) Willingham of Augusta, and Kelly Herrin of Brunswick, father-inlaw, Thomas Ross (Ethel) Polillo of Kennewick, mother-in-law, Mary Lou Ott of Cheney, a sister-in-law, Martha Louise (David) Lauber; and two brothersin-law, Richard Ross Polillo and Steven Peter (Karla) Polillo.
